ARTIST STATEMENT

ONCE UPON A TIME
An ironic story of alienation starts with the unity of nature and the humanbeing coming out of it. This story mainly starts with the phase where man leaves its own nature and prisons himself to the concretized urban life that he calls secure. In my paintings, man as the hero of this story turns into the fairy tale hero that he had in his dreams as a child.

The figures that technically look realistic serve as a help for us to go into the place that resembles a theatre stage empathising with them. When I portray these figures that I have turned into fairy tale heroes, I am taking them away from the unpleasant truth and revitalizing them in the fairy tales by which I may be trying to realize a childhood dream.
